Dubai Desert Classic

2020 dates to be confirmed.

Since its inauguration in 1989, the Dubai Desert Classic has become one of the flagship events on the European Tour.

Contested over the Majlis Course at The Emirates Golf Club, the event attracts the crème de la crème of the golf fraternity and claims an illustrious list of past champions including Ernie Els, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

The Emirates Golf Club boasts two championship courses but it is the Majlis that has been dubbed "The Desert Miracle" and attracts countless golfers to Dubai each and every year.

Years of construction went into carving this magnificent course out of the Dubai desert landscape to include numerous salt and freshwater lakes that come into play on several holes, as well as large, fast putting surfaces of the very highest quality. The Majlis is a notoriously demanding course, with giant waste bunkers, water hazards and super-slick greens as its main defences. However, as challenging as the course is, it still can’t stop the world's best players in their tracks. With an average winning score of -16, it proves just how good these players are. Expect to see plenty of birdies and eagles during your time at the Dubai Desert Classic!

Combine your experience of the Dubai Desert Classic with a few days enjoying the entertainment and shopping of Dubai; it's really a one-of-a-kind city in the Middle East!

The city of Dubai is the largest in the United Arab Emirates and is situated on the south-east coast of the Persian Gulf. Initially a trade city, it started to gain revenue when oil was discovered in 1966. Today Dubai is a modern, global city: a significant transport hub, central to world business and iconic as a travel destination. Dubai is also home to the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, which towers above the already impressive skyline. There is simply an endless number of activities and sights to enjoy while in the city; some of the highlights include exploring the traditional Al Fahidi Historic District which has been well-restored to reflect the heritage architecture of the city, indoor skiing in the gigantic Mall of the Emirates, and of course, shopping. Dubai hosts two huge annual shopping festivals which see flocks of retail-therapy lovers streaming into the city from across the world. For lovers of both the ancient and the new, Dubai is certainly the buzz of the Middle East and a technologically modern epicentre.
