Australia is a varied and beautiful country, a continent in itself, filled with a unique array of landscapes that range from red ochre desert to brilliantly coloured coral reefs and fascinating cities. Most of the population lives on the coast, as the internal Australian outback can reach extreme temperatures during the summer, and plummet during the mid-year winter. Australia is made up of six states: New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia and Tasmania, which is a small island off the coast of Melbourne. Each state brings with it a unique history, culinary heritage and sense of pride. Some of Australia’s top attractions include the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park (home to Uluru, formally known as Ayers Rock), the Great Barrier Reef, Bondi Beach off the east coast and the most populated city in the country, Sydney.
