Fans of MotoGP will know that Valencia, Spain is the place to be in November every year. But there’s so much more to this vibrant city than just the Valencian GP — even for hardcore MotoGP fans. From stunning beaches to world-class food and a rich cultural history, Valencia is the perfect place to spoil your other half while still getting to see one of MotoGP’s most exciting races. If you’re planning on seeing the MotoGP Valencia event live, make the most of your trip by exploring all that this amazing city has to offer.

What is Valencia best known for?

One of the city’s most iconic landmarks is the City of Arts and Sciences, a futuristic complex that houses a planetarium, an opera house, an IMAX cinema, and a science museum. The complex was designed by acclaimed architect Santiago Calatrava, and its stunning modernist architecture is a sight to behold. Another must-visit tourist attraction is the Central Market, a bustling indoor food market that has been in operation since 1928. There, you can sample some of Valencia’s best-known culinary delights, including paella, fresh seafood, and horchata, a refreshing drink made from tiger nuts.

But Valencia is more than just its famous landmarks — it’s a city full of hidden gems waiting to be discovered. One such gem is the Barrio del Carmen, Valencia’s old town. There you’ll find winding streets lined with charming old buildings, as well as a host of trendy bars and restaurants. The Turia Gardens, a stunning park that stretches for nine kilometres along the bed of a diverted river, is also well worth a visit. Here you can enjoy a leisurely stroll or bike ride and take in the city’s beautiful countryside.

Where is the MotoGP track in Valencia?

Of course, the whole reason you are coming to Valencia in the first place, is to visit to the MotoGP track itself. The Ricardo Tormo Circuit is located near Cheste, located about 26km from the city centre of Valencia. It’s a challenging track with tight corners and a long front straight, making for some exciting racing. If you’re planning on attending the Valencian GP, be sure to check out Edusport’s MotoGP Valencia packages. Our comprehensive packages include tickets, accommodation and transfers, so you can focus on enjoying your trip without worrying about the logistics.

Are there day trips from Valencia?

Finally, if you have time to spare, why not take a day trip from Valencia to explore the surrounding area? One of the most popular destinations is the Albufera Natural Park, just a short drive south of the city. The park is home to a large freshwater lake where you can take a boat ride and spot local wildlife. You can also visit the nearby town of El Palmar (32 minutes away depending on traffic), famous for its excellent paella restaurants. Alternatively, you can head north to the town of Sagunto (only 23 minutes away depending on traffic), which boasts an impressive Roman theatre and other ancient ruins.
